Many thanks to all who entered and congratulations to the winners!
There are few things in life that are just as good and as wholesome as
a brownie. Brownies come in all different flavors and toppings. I love brownies
topped with anything from warm caramel, to strawberries to powdered sugar and
even ice cream. Brownies can turn your
day around and transport you into the always-perfect land of chocolate and bliss.
Brownies makes you happy, excited and sometimes very sick… that is if you are
trying to live a gluten free life. People who are living with gluten
intolerance or celiac disease can’t always get gluten free baked goods that
taste good.

freedgoodsco is a gluten-free
bakery located in Old Greenwich, Connecticut that produces gluten free brownies and blondies. freedgoodsco has been taking over New England with their delicious and
wildly addictive gluten-free blondies and brownies. Forging ahead with
their motto, “Live Gluten Free,” freedgoodsco is changing the world, one
brownie at a time. Stephanie Norton, the former corporate lawyer turned stay-at-home
mom turned gluten-free baker, took her strong desire to create a gluten-free
brownie that would be as good if not better than the brownies she remembered as
a kid and created freedgoodsco.
Stephanie’s love for baking started when she was a little girl. She
learned to bake from her grandmother Rose. “Many of my best memories are tied
to times we spent baking together,” Stephanie has said. “As I grew, so did my
passion for baking...especially brownies! I was tired of the cardboard I was
forced to buy or the box mix I was forced to make so that I could get the home
baked feeling which I craved ever since being diagnosed.”
So Stephanie set out
with her mom’s old recipes and over two years she researched and tweaked the
recipes until they were perfect. The brownie recipe is still being used today
to make the signature freedgoodsco brownies. “Gluten-free living is not going
away and we have only tipped the iceberg on the need for gluten-free products.
Ninety percent of those with issues have yet to be identified. I need
to feel like I can eat whatever I want. I want others to know gluten-free does not mean
taste free or doing without, it means better, healthier and way more yummy than
anything with gluten!” Stephanie and her son, Eli, are living a gluten-free life.
Their signature brownies are so fudge-y, rich and very, very decadent.
The top of the brownie is slightly crunchy and sets off the richness of the
moist fudge-y, chocolate brownie inside. The flavor stays with you, enticing you
to take bite after bite until all that is left of your brownie is a few chocolate
crumbs and a smiling stomach. Healthy actually is delicious and satisfying. Who
knew that these gluten-free brownies would be the best brownies I have ever
had, gluten-free or not?
freedgoodsco’s blondie is heavenly. While the brownie is richer and
darker, the blondie has a lightness that calls you back. The chocolate chips
are a delightful addition to the blondie, and some bites will include chocolate
chips and others won’t. It is truly delightful and truly addictive! The
blondie are my absolute favorite. I love how strongly the fresh organic
coconut comes through the blondie flavor.
It is just a slice of gluten-free heaven! Who knew healthy would taste
so good?
Along with baking the most delicious gluten-free treats, Stephanie Norton donates 5% of profits to infertility education, research and treatment, something very close to her heart. By enjoying these products you too will be able to contribute to this worthy cause. That's truly a guilt-free indulgence!
freedgoodsco brownies and blondies can be found in select stores in Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts,
including Barttlet Farm in Nantucket.
