Blogger Love and a Big Thank You







Wow I was just coming off the high from the Stylish Blogger Award that Lisa gave me... when I got this totally unexpected comment from Chrissy...

I couldn't believe it! I have met the most amazing people through blogging. I don't know if you all were trying to make my week, my month and my year. But you did! I really have been struggling lately with everything, and not only did I need a extra dollop of loving, but I needed a kick in the pants for my self esteem! Well, thanks to both Lisa and Chrissy... this month I got 2 heaping servings of blogger love and I am happy to pass it on to some fabulous bloggers!

1.Burnt Toast- I just found this blog though FTLOB and it had me laughing hysterically at the "Kitchenisms"

2. Almighty Dad- I loved Keith's post on the Harry Potter cookbook and on his recommendation I bought if for a friend. I did make the delicious Harry Potter marshmallows recipe that Keith had featured. Yummy!

3. Delishhh- I was encouraged to check out this blog from Roberta at More Thyme Than Dough. She was absolutely 100% correct. Once I saw this blog, the pictures and the recipes I went crazy. The pictures are stunningly clear and gorgeous. And of course, I want to chow down on every recipe. 

4. Gourmande in the Kitchen- This is a beautiful amazing blog full of kitchen love. A must read and recipes that call out to me!

5. Elly Says Opa!-This blog is a total blast to read and I have to stop licking the screen every time I see her Baklava French/Greek toast! 

6. A Sweet Pea Chef- I found Lacey's Blog through a search for watermelon on TasteSpotting. I was so drawn to her beautiful picture of watermelon sorbet, I knew the her website was going to be a a must. 

7. Cooking for Seven- This is one of the most simple and beautiful blogs I have had the pleasure of visiting. The writing is from the heart and the food is rich, warm and true comfort food. Cooking for Seven is like going home, again!

8. A Spicy Perspective-this bright and cheerful blog with lift your spirits with recipes for grapefruit basil sorbetdulce leche and nutella thumbprints with sea salt and Pom-Apple Cranberry Relish.

9. Lemons and Laundry- I love this sweet blog. It is a new find for me, but I love that Marcie could write/devote a whole post to a friend, Earl.  I am so enjoying getting to know you through your amazing blog and I am loving every post!

10. The Bakery Box- Lindsey's Blog is bright and beautiful. I love how every post, picture and recipe is built around her awesome family. Every recipe jumps of the page and many have made their way on to my cooking/baking list.

11. Guilty Kitchen- Elizabeth's blog is amazing. I am in love with her inspired flavors and her beautifully transformed pictures

12. The Kitchenarian- This blog/food diary is truly lovely. I love how true and simply each post is written and I adore the addition of the Sous Chef.

13. Sticky Gooey Creamy Chewy- Susan's yummy blog is beautiful, stunning and totally delicious! The meatloaf cupcakes with a "frosting" of mashed potatoes is totally awesome!

14. Cooking Underwriter- This is another of Roberta's great recommendations. I love how simple and beautiful Mrs. Mix-it's recipes are and how comfortable you feel making her recipes. All the steps are laid out and there is no need to guess about any step. 

15. I am Bisty. Hear me Roar- Bitsy is awesome and very new to the blogging world. I love her Almost Weekly Show on YouTube. 

7 things about me

1. My La-Z-boy recliner is my desk chair. I a more comfortable this way!
2. My favorite book is A Year in Provence by Peter Mayle. This book is one of the reasons I started to blog. The way food is the highlight of the book, it was life changing. I read A Year in Provence every year.
3. I still have my first cookbook, The Sesame Street Cookbook
4.  My favorite movie is Man of the Year with Robin Williams as President
5. I do not like or drink wine or beer. I do cook with wine sometimes though! 
6. I would eat ice cream 24 hours a day, 7 days a week if I could!
7.  My favorite 3 spices are Cinnamon, Vanilla and Nutmeg. They show up in so many of my favorite foods and recipes.
