High Above Chicago

Good Morning! It looks like I have some explaining to do!  I have had quite a few comments on this picture of me. The most recent comment came from Kimberly at Under the Umbrella Network. She totally awesome (as is her blog) and I received the most   unbelievable welcome upon joining Under the Umbrella Network
This is one of my favorite pictures, no one can figure out where I am!  But this picture was taken at the Willis/Sears tower in Chicago. I hope you enjoy both the pictures and the awesomeness of Under the Umbrella Network
Kate on Skydeck, 103 floors above Chicago, 2010

"The Under the Umbrella Network is thrilled and delighted to welcome Kate from Calamity Kate’s Kitchen!  (Can I just say that I love that name!?)
Kate is an avid recipe collector and amateur gourmet and photographer and, as she describes it: “I am a clutz except in the kitchen. My friends nicknamed me Calamity Kate.”
Calamity Kate’s Kitchen is a lovely collection of Friendly Fridays, recipes and posts about the life of Calamity Kate!  And I will also mention that between her discussing latkes and escargots below, I will be spending some of my time haunting Calamity Kate’s Kitchen!
<—-and I want to hear more about THIS picture!"

These pictures were taken on the way up to the Skydeck. It took us a while to get there but I was entertained the whole way! Of course I really had no idea of what I was getting myself into. 103 floors up is a LONG way up!

The Willis/Sears Tower is 262 Michael Jordan's Tall

This is the view from the Wills/Sears tower on a clear day. 50 miles

  2. OMG, you are so brave! I just got back from Chicago and checked out the Hancock tower and it's view from the 96th floor. Even the idea of the skydeck freaked me out!

  4. You all are so funny! Thanks for making my day! It didn't feel like anything crazy or big at the time, it was awesome for a claustrophobic girl.
